This is the best epoxy, so easy to apply!
On the beige color does the second coat take as much material? I have 300 square feet. Do I need a 4.5 gallon or 6 gallon?
Same amount for the second coat. We would suggest two of the 3-gallon kits.
My basement floor is around 715 sq ft. Are two 3 gallon kits enough to cover? It’s about half way between the 600-800 sq ft. Does your product typically cover on the shy side or long side of the estimated coverage area? Thanks!
Coverage varies based on the surface porosity and how thick the person is applying the coating. That is why there is a variance in the sq footage. Since we have no way of controlling this, we cannot say it will cover on the shy or long side of the range.
So if I’m applying over concrete leveler I’ll need to wait 30 days or more?
It would be best.
Shop floor is radiant heated will the epoxy adhere and not get soft what about hot tire pickup also
Once the epoxy is fully cured and dried, it is fine.
can you use two different colors to makes swirl patterns? or do the colors not mix?
No, it is not possible to get swirl colors.
Can you apply this in the morning during the prescribed temperature ranges and be ok knowing the temperature is going to increase above the recommended range by 10 degrees?
Yes.
Is this a two part epoxy? Base and hardener?
Yes, it is a two-part epoxy.
How easy is the application process? Do you recommend hiring a contractor, or is this something that the ordinary homeowner can do and have great results?
95% of our purchases are to homeowners that do it themselves!
I have epoxy floor down already. It’s 15 years old. can i go right over top of the old flooring…thanks
No, you will need to grind off the old coating first.
I have a 900 square foot addition to my shop to coat with your epoxy coating. It appears that one 3-car garage kit contains two 3-gallon kits that covers 600-800 square feet total.
Should I add one 1.5 gallon kit to balance out the remainder (covers 190-240 square feet) of coverage? Or should I add one 2-car garage kit (contains one 3-gallon kit and one 1.5 gallon kit) that covers 400-500 square feet? I don’t want to run short but also don’t want to waste product or money.
Thanks.
A total of 3 of the 3-gallons kits is what we would suggest.
I have 9×9″ asbestos floor tiles that I need to encapsulate. Can this be applied directly to the floor tiles? Thanks
No, not on floor tiles.
Should a primer be used for better bonding?
No, never use a primer with an epoxy.
What about using this on an already painted floor surface?
You would need to grind off the current paint.
Hello. Do you have any actual photos of the Battleship Gray color? I am interested in seeing a finished application. Thank you so much!
Here is one.
Can I go thinner on the base coat if I intend on adding full flake and a top coat?
No.
No, it cannot.
Is it possible to do one half of a 14×36 floor, let dry and then do the other half without a distinguishable line? ie..equipment/storage has to remain in room but can be moved.
No, it will need to be done all at once.
It says it cold up to chemicals but what about gas, brake cleaner etc.
It is resistant to gas, brake fluid, etc.
Hello,
You will need to remove the sealer first by grinding it off.
It does not come in a “marble” look. The product works great for garages.
I have an 1100 square foot garage with concrete floor poured 3 months ago. How many kits do I need and do I still have to etch the floor? No vehicles or marks are on the concrete floor .
You would need about 3 of the 3-gallons kits and 1 of the 1.5-gallon kits. You always have to etch the surface, especially on new concrete.
My floor measures 325 sq. ft. I see on some product sites that 2 coats may be needed to get a nice even color coat. Should I order the 3 gallon kit with the extra 1.5 gallon? I will be choosing either french gray or dark gray.
You will only need one coat for the gray colors. For added durability you can always add the top coat.
The easiest and best-looking epoxy kit!
